From Animal Behavior College: "The Animal Behavior College (ABC) Veterinary Assistant Training Program is designed for anyone wishing to pursue a successful career as a Certified Veterinary Assistant. The program is structured to offer you the convenience and cost of a home-study program with the added benefit of working one-on-one with veterinary professionals in hospital and clinical settings. ABC’s comprehensive curriculum is extensive, consisting of 11 stages of highly detail-oriented educational material. The first stages of the curriculum will teach you all the required responsibilities and duties commonly designated to the veterinary assistant.
"Once a strong foundation has been established, you will be given the opportunity to work with veterinary professionals in your area. Animal Behavior College will set you up for your externship in a veterinary clinic or hospital where you will apply all that you learned at home in an actual working environment. Throughout this stage of the program, you will be working with veterinarians, veterinary technicians and other veterinary assistants as you apply all of the knowledge you have acquired during the in-home study portion of the program in a real-life professional environment. During this time you will obtain valuable hands-on experience that is so widely sought after when applying for employment after graduation."
